The Lollie Bombs exploded onto the Deep Ellum underground art scene in September, 2006, bringing with them a mix of sexy and cute, dirty and sweet, seduction and coyness. Angi B. Lovely, the founding member of the group, had a vision of a fun, strong, talented group of ladies who could sing, act, dance, and demonstrate that the art of the theatrical striptease could be revived for contemporary audiences. Soon joined by Roxie Moxie, Lilly Lawless, Kitty Brown, and Lady J the five-girl troupe was off and running, wowing audiences with a little old-time burlesque here, a little modern burlesque there. Together with their choreographer, E. Hall, they formed a troupe that could seduce audiences with sophisticated dance moves as well as a well placed shake of the tush. They've been known to titillate with just a few numbers, or a full two-hour burlesque extravaganza. In April of this year the Lollies added a few more members, including Black Mariah (formerly of White Lightnin' Burlesque in Knoxville, Tennessee), Natasha Sweet and Moni Love. These lovely ladies have each brought their own brand of hotness to the group. Now, it would seem, everyone has their favorite Lollie Bomb to cheer. No longer performing only in Deep Ellum, they have expanded their territory to venues all over the metroplex, including Lee Harvey's, The Double-Wide, Zubar, The Cavern, and The Pocket Sandwich Theater, not to mention private events throughout Texas.
